Monks and Mystics obviously has the societies and loads of story potential outside the Hermetic Society. There seem to be events for solar eclipse panic (would play into Friedrich the Glorious's heliocentrism research in some way), 'zombies' (could be a fun one-off.or angel shenanigans), and a 'prophet of doom' (who could be a minor antagonist during the 13th Century Crisis). The Reaper's Due could have fleshed out epidemics and the Black Death instead of being something I tanked relatively easily because I had so much money I could just quarantine the entire Hohenzollern court until it ended.
